Material :
It is upto the user to specify the choice of material with respect to the final application of the wire screens (eg. resistance to environmental corrosion, permissibility for food products etc.) further processing (eg. suitability for shaping, welding and surface treatment). The likelihood of corrosion during transport and storage. The materials should be designed in accordance with appropriate standards or, if none exists, according to commercial specifications. |
Roll lengths :
A standard roll is 25mtrs to 30mtrs long, and half rolls are 12.5 mtrs or 15 mtrs long. The length of rolls may be + or -10%. The delivered length is the length invoiced. |
Partial lengths :
A Wire Cloth roll may consist of a maximum of three roll pieces. The minimum length of a roll piece is 2.5 mtrs. |
Cloth width :
For rolls and roll pieces, the width of the cloth may not be less than the nominal width, but may be up to 2% in excess. The overall width is measured. |
Cut to size pieces and strips :
A "Strip" is wire cloth of a defined width which is cut from manufacturing width. With orders for quantities of less than a standard roll, the length of the individual strip may be reduced accordingly. |
